  • About the Role

    As Account Manager working within the Sports team, it is your job to drive the overall account performance of Mailman’s US sports clients in the China market. You will be responsible for up to 3x accounts for content, account and client management across the brand’s official digital channels.


    Account management

    On Account management, we would like to see leadership in terms of managing the entire marketing and content creation process, to review and provide feedback to your team. Detail responsibilities below:

    • Providing leadership by leading the resolution of account deliverables, managing and contributing to creative process of idea generation, idea refining and selling consumer-centric concepts into client teams
    • Lead an execution team for the entire creative, developmental and executional process of unique social content for the brand
    • Ensure account performance meets the KPIs set by the team and client
    • Strict and detail-focused management, overseeing daily work to ensure best performance, mitigate any problems, listen and talk with team members to support where needed
    • Responsible for the development and execution of seasonal planning, key campaign proposals & initiatives
    • Build relationships and manage brand advocates and influential KOLs
    • Produce insightful monthly and quarterly reports
    • Communicate updates and status reports to Account Director as to the overall performance
    • Working closely with other departments as part of a 360/integrated planning and delivery process


    Client management

    On Client management, work closely with the Client Director on weekly basis, where you present the status, tasks completed and what’s coming next. Proficient presentation and keynote skills are required, where you can own proposals and plans for your clients. Detail responsibilities below:

    • Anticipating client needs and problems and developing creative and effective solutions
    • Setting and managing client expectations, and tightly managing timelines
    • Create campaign proposals and execution plans when needed to present to clients and team
    • Drive multiple campaigns from creative ideation to strategic planning, execution, documentation & reporting
    • Evaluate client and market reactions to campaigns; ensure timely adjustment of strategy to meet changing client and market needs
    • Schedule calls and meetings with the client and provide follow up to meetings when needed


    Team management

    As you will need manage junior staff and lead your own team, we want you to spread your impact across not only your team, but the sports team as a whole.

    • Implement a team member management system to track weekly and monthly performance
    • Managing staff to maximize productivity and individual and team performance.
    • Provide monthly reviews with your team members and make sure they are accountable
    • Setup 1x new team initiative, work process or activity, and help drive monthly team buildings
    • Assist the Account Director in hiring, assessment and career development activities of the junior team
    • Assist in identifying and addressing training, leadership and career development needs and opportunities for the  junior team
  • Requirements
    • Min. 5 years of Chinese marketing and advertising experience
    • Min. 3 years of global brand account management experience
    • Passion for US Sports, brands and culture
    • Advanced knowledge of the Chinese digital media landscape
    • Direct experience in Chinese content development, promotion and execution of social campaigns
    • Excellent planning, presentation and people management skills
    • Professional discipline, assertiveness, responsiveness and great attention to detail
    • Native Chinese language speaker with excellent Chinese and English
    • reading & writing skills
    • A believer in the concept of mutual accountability
